The Masters

“It’s a tradition unlike any other,” says Jim Nantz regarding the Masters Tournament.  Every year in early April, a golf tournament known as “The Masters” rolls around with heavy anticipation.  Although some consider it to be just another golf tournament, this one is truly special.  The Masters is the best golf tournament of the year.

The Masters is one of four majors in golf, along with the US Open, British Open, and the PGA Championship.  There is always the most anticipation around The Masters because it is the year’s first major.  It is also the only major which is played on the same golf course every year, called Augusta National Golf Club.  It is seen as a top three course in the world thanks to its majestic flowers, beautiful, mistake free grass, and high pine trees.  There is truly no other golf course quite like Augusta National.

There is also an incredible amount of history around The Masters tournament.  There have been so many moments that golf fans will never forget from this tournament, such as Jack Nicklaus in 1986, Tiger Woods’s chip in on the 16th hole in 2005, and most recently, Bubba Watson’s incredible snap hook iron from the woods in a playoff to win in 2012.  Augusta makes for an incredible stage with history on the line at every shot.

There are a lot of great golf tournaments in our world.  However, there is one front-runner that sets apart from the rest: The Masters.  There is no golf tournament that will ever beat The Masters because of its anticipation, beauty, and history.  Golf fans will continue to enjoy this tournament every April for years to come.
