Cheer+and+Dance+Teams+Ready+to+Leave+it+all+on+the+Mat+at+State+Competition+in+Grand+Island

On Friday, February 17, in Grand Island, Nebraska, the State Cheer and Apollinaire Dance teams will be competing in the 2017 Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Championships. Finally, after several long months of preparing their routines the teams are ready to take the mat show off all their hard work. The East cheer and dance teams will be up against  Class A teams from across the state as well as teams right here in Lincoln.

On Wednesday night, things kicked off when the state teams held a showcase in the East auditorium that was open to friends and family members of the teams as a way to send them off to state, and one final dress rehearsal. Both the cheer and dance teams will embark on their journey to Grand Island after school on Thursday and spend all day on Friday competing for a state trophy.  Each team has two different routines they will be performing that have been in the works since September.  In the months between September and February, everyone has been busy cleaning and prepping their routines to make them as sharp as can be.

Fridays competition at the Heartland Event Center in Grand Island will include Class A and Class B schools, while Class C and D will compete Saturday.  This weekend will be a great opportunity to support each other as well as other schools to show off everyone’s hard work they have put in.
