First home game for the Lincoln East boys soccer team

First+home+game+for+the+Lincoln+East+boys+soccer+team

It was a cold and windy day for soccer on Thursday, March 23rd.  It was the Lincoln East boys soccer team first game at Seacrest for the 2017 season.  The Spartans won 5-0 on Thursday as Eli Brown and Johnny Hansen netted two goals apiece in the first half and Ben Luci scored a PK in the late minutes of the game.  On Tuesday, they traveled to Fremont for their first game of the year and won 3-0.  In the first two games of the year there have been a couple spartans that have stood out from the rest.  Eli Brown (sophomore) and Johnny Hansen (junior) have been stellar so far this season.  They have scored 7 out of the 8 goals this season, they also make a difference with their great passes and runs they make.   Eli has great positioning and made the best of it on Thursday as he scored a 2nd chance shot and also a cross from Johnny.  Johnny is one of the most prolific strikers in the state and he has came back to play high school after he left during his sophomore year to play soccer in Kansas City for a youth Sporting KC team.

The team has a lot of leaders and a lot of varsity experience, that’s a big difference from this years team and last years team.  They also have a sense of identity and good team chemistry, a lot of these have played with each other since they were little and most play on the same club teams.  This is one of the better teams that Hoham has had in awhile and it should be a great season for the boys soccer team!
