Winter Storm Warning

Winter+Storm+Warning

Jonas has taken over the east coast of the United States this past week.  This isn’t the old boy band the Jonas Brothers either.  The winter storm Jonas has quickly covered the east coast with, in some places, close to 20 inches of snow.

Storm advisories stretched from Nebraska to the Carolinas to the New York City metro area.  Blizzard watches, winter storm watches, winter storm warnings, winter weather advisories, and freezing rain advisories covered 73 million Americans since Thursday morning.  Besides snow, winter storm Jonas also contained severe thunderstorms and possibly tornadoes.

One the icy side, ice has lead to very slick roads, tree damage, and power outages. 60 mph winds have multiplied with rain and heavy snow.  Near the coasts, powerful winds have mixed with water and caused coastal surge flooding and battering waves atop the surge.

Winter storm Jonas has taken control of the east coast.  Who would’ve thought the east coast would have more snow than northern Minnesota?
