Russ’s has been a local grocery store in Lincoln since 1964 when two former Safeway workers decided to open up their own store on 17th and Washington St. Russ’s store on 70th and Van Dorn recently closed to help finances towards a huge remodeling program at the Russ’s location on 66th and O street. Current employees at the location on 70th have been offered jobs at other various Russ’s locations in Lincoln. Most of the food was put on clearance and sold before it closed but the food that was not sold was moved to the location at 66th and O street.
