East Volleyball Outlook

East+Volleyball+Outlook

After the 2016 Fall volleyball season the team finished with a 9-24 record which leaves room for improvement. Saying goodbye to five seniors next year will be a good opportunity for underclassmen to take the reins and help rebuild the program.  Head coach Mike Wiese was appreciative of his team’s effort.  For those planning to play volleyball next season Coach Wiese is really looking forward to summer conditioning in order to prepare for next years fall season.

“We look forward to working on serving and passing this summer.  The majority of the top ten teams in the state possess a high level of serving and passing.  Its also awesome to see the players that are ready to challenge for the next level in our program.  We are looking forward to see who is willing to do what it takes to improve.  Doing what it takes includes things like strength and conditioning, attending camps and asking specific questions.  It also includes showing coaches that you are making the attempt to do the extra things.” says Coach Wiese. He really stressed being able to put in the extra effort and making sure his players know that they must earn their spots on the team.  Tyra Moloff a senior transfer from LSW will be continuing on the East volleyball legacy at Peru State College next fall.  Coach Wiese and the rest of the East volleyball program wish her the best of luck.
