Trump is Turning Things Around

Trump is Turning Things Around

“The U.S. economy is doing very very well at the moment,” says Jeremy Cook, chief economist at World First, a foreign exchange firm, according to a CNN article by Patrick Gillespie.

The United State’s Labor Department claimed, that during President Donald Trump’s first full month in office, he managed to add 235,000 jobs to the U.S. economy.  Trump is starting strong on his promise to create 25 million jobs over the next ten years.

People have said the sudden increase in jobs could be caused by the warm weather in the Midwest and Northeast.  Included in that “sudden increase”, is the fact that unemployment rate decreased from 4.8% to 4.7%, leading towards an increase in jobs.  The warm weather has allowed businesses, like company construction firms, to continue their projects to meet their strong demand.

Also adding to the hundreds of promises Trump has made, he said that he will increase manufacturing jobs by obtaining better trade deals with other countries.  Out off the 235,000 jobs added this month, 28,000 were manufacturing jobs.  Huge gains were also seen in government and transportation jobs, according to the same CNN article as above.

All of these job gains have helped the Federal Reserve raise interest rates; and leaders in the Federal Reserve have said that rates will continue to rise in March if the economy stays on track.
President Trump has certainly kept one of his many promises by adding jobs to our country, and hopefully he will continue to do so.
