NeSA is No More

As most of students know, NeSA testing is officially no longer a junior testing requirement. With this simple change, the ACT becomes the only major test that will be taken on April 19th. Not only does this relieves a tremendous amount of stress for students taking the ACT, but allows them to focus on this important assessment.
Mrs. Julie Harder, an East administrator, explains how this change came about: “The Nebraska Department of Education wrote a Request of Proposal for a college entrance exam for testing 11th grade in 2016-2017 and this was approved, explained this change about, explains how this change came about. This led to the elimination of the NeSA testing at the 11th grade level, replaced by the ACT exam with Nebraska State Standards implemented in connection with the assessment.”

The NeSA portion will be instead replaced with the ACT writing.
