Sam Griesel’s trip to Vermillion, South Dakota, was his fourth and final official visit of the fall.
Griesel ended his recruitment by committing to South Dakota on Monday.

Griesel took visits to University of Nebraska at Omaha, North Dakota State, and finally USD. He also held offers from Drake, Dartmouth, and Presbyterian.

Not only were the facilities enough to sell Griesel, the academies became important to him as much as anything else. Griesel plans to major in Business.

The visit included walking around campus, meeting players, staff, and checking out the facilities. Griesel describes it as the “Perfect fit”

South Dakota is coached by former Nebraska assistant Craig Smith who led the Yotes to a 22-12 record and a Summit League regular season title.

Griesel last year averaged 13.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and looks to lead East to a state playoff berth this year after being beaten by Norfolk in the district finals the past two years.
