On Sunday, May 1st, 2016, the annual Lincoln Marathon took its toll on any person who trained to tackle the course.

The Lincoln Marathon and half marathon are both hard races to take on.  The full marathon is 26.2 miles and the half marathon is 13.1 miles. There was a total of 10,000 men and women who crossed the finish line between the two races.

The half marathon begins on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, then goes south to South Street, then down Sheridan Blvd., down Pioneers Street, then west to South 20th Street, and then after riding that to Harrison Avenue, turning left, and riding that till South 10th Street, and then taking that north all the way to the finish line in Memorial Stadium.

The full marathon begins on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and takes the same path as the half marathon, until it leaves it at the Memorial Stadium, and heads southeast on Antelope Valley Parkway, which later turns into Normal Blvd.  It goes all the way to Holmes Lake and then you turn around there and head back on the same route to finish in Memorial Stadium.

The fastest time for men in the half marathon was Evans Chelanga with the time 1:06:02.  Also, the fastest time for women was Jebichi Yator with the time 1:15:58.
