For the first time since 2009, Lincoln East Softball is headed to the State Tournament.

Despite a runner-up finish in the A-7 District, the Spartans accumulated enough points to earn the only wild card for the Class A bracket.  East is the eight seed in the 8 team double elimination bracket, so they will open up with top seed Papillion-La Vista on Wednesday afternoon in Hastings.

Although they are the underdog coming in, the Spartans have proven to be able to hang with the best in Class A, especially when the bats are on.  Keep and eye out for Spartan Softball as they try to take home the gold.
