Snatraps 2017

Snatraps+2017

Its that time of year again: It’s time for Snatraps 2017. This year the theme is “Talent: Off the Wall”, in reference to the iconic Vans sneaker design. This year the lineup has been expanded to include over 20 acts.

With acts ranging from singing, dancing, comedy, and performance pieces, Snatraps has expanded to one of the most attended and varied events of the year. With an increase in performers and advertisement, it looks promising that the event will rival the near sell outs of years previous.

In addition to bringing on more acts, the production value has increased on the technical side of things, with two adult directors, lights, sound, a stage manager, and two technical assistants.

I talked to Micah Wilson, Stuco member and Co-MC

What we can expect from the evening.

“Snatraps is always really fun, and this year we have also put in a lot of effort to make it great”.

Is it mostly musical Acts this year?

“Our lineup does lean more towards soloists, or group performances. BUT we do have a few comedic acts, as well as three or four dance acts.”

As the MC, how long is the process to write and rehearse all the jokes?

“Well after we got the full roster of events, we got to work cranking out puns, skits, and cheesy jokes and finally think we have it funny enough”

Now, everybody is wondering… what is the video gonna be this year?

“I guess we will have to wait and see”
