Fall Themed Activities

Fall Themed Activities

The air gets a little crisper, the leaves begin to change from green to bursting orange and red hues; nature’s way of telling us it’s finally time for a seasonal change: Autumn! For the average teen there are some spectacular things to do especially during this time that you can’t do any other time of the year.  Here as follows are some of my top picks for fun things to do during the fall season.

For starters pumpkin patches with friends or family are a must.  Around the Lincoln area there are some great pumpkin patches to visit including Roca Berry Farm, Vala’s Pumpkin patch, and many others.  There are awesome fall themed games and activities to do around the farms such as going on a hayrack ride around the farm or trying to make your way through the corn maze.  One thing that always comes to mind when I think of fall and visiting the pumpkin patches is the amazing smell of kettle corn; the awesome taste of the sweet and saltiness is perfect.  And don’t forget to grab your pumpkin!

Once you’ve got your pumpkin, carving or decorating in order to complete your Autumn decor is next.  You can get a pumpkin carving stencil practically anywhere to help you create a superb design for your pumpkin; don’t forget to put a candle in your pumpkin once finished to light up your or Fall night!  If you’re not into the whole carving a pumpkin thing then painting it would be the next best thing to do.  You can be totally creative and put anything on the pumpkin you’d like; even glitter and stickers!

Lastly, before you throw out all the pumpkin guts’ and seeds’ away a yummy holiday treat is to roast pumpkin seeds.  All you have to do is clean out the inside of your pumpkin and put in a bowl, next clean the seeds and throw all of the orange guck in the trash, put the seeds onto a cookie sheet and season how’d you like and put in the oven to finish off your holiday treat.

All in all, there are many things to do during Fall even though it is getting colder and the weather is changing and life gets a little hectic.  So If you find yourself bored or just low-key hating on Fall then try one of the ideas listed above;going to a pumpkin patch, carving/painting a pumpkin, or creating an awesome home-made costume for Halloween, I bet you’ll love it!
