Snow Day, Where Are You?

With all of the snow and rain that Lincoln has been getting these past few weeks, you would think that we would have at least one day off of school. So far this year, we have had no days off of school other than during Winter Break and Fall Break. We have had above-normal temperature and above-normal precipitation, all winter. So the question is, when, if ever, are we going to have a snow day? One reason  that we have not had a snow  day yet may be that global warming is making the weather too warm for snow to fall. Another reason may be because of the effect that El Nino has on seasonal weather patterns. Snow has not fallen in Nebraska as much as it did in the past. Even when it does, it does not stay on the ground for very long, and is almost never more than an inch. Hardly enough to qualify as potential for a snow day. However, with the forecast of a snowstorm next week, we might finally get the snow day we’ve all been waiting for.
