New Additions to the PE Department

Lincoln East High School continues to grow, beginning with the addition of three new teachers in the PE department.  Nicole Gingery, daughter of East varsity football and track coach John Gingery, is no stranger to East High.  A former Spartan and current JV volleyball coach, Gingery has made the transition from middle school to high school, and has thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gingery grew up around teaching, so the decision to become one herself was relatively simple.  Seeing her dad touch so many lives through teaching and coaching was a big inspiration to her.  The family-like culture at East is one she has always wanted to come back to.

“East has always been kind of a second home for me,” said Gingery.

Gingery remembers as a young girl being babysat by other coaches and athletes.  She appreciates the supportive community that the teachers and coaches provide for each other.

She enjoys high school both because of how much easier it is to communicate with students, and how talented they are.  Gingery’s favorite class to teach is team sports, despite her 7th period being a little rowdy.  She believes in good time management and preparation, two things that are imperative to success as a teacher and coach.  Overall, Gingery looks forward to creating her own path at East.
