Once the school year begins in August, there is a lot of things the students look forward to. There is Spartan Football of course, the homecoming dance, and we can’t forget the Blood Drive.

But there is a special event that always has the students feeling a little more excited than normal. The event is called, “The Sparties”. The Sparties is a student award show, the oscars of Lincoln East as some might say. Students are nominated by the class body for different categories such as, most dedicated fan, best musician, best hair flow and many more.

Obviously the main purpose of the Sparties is to award the out of the ordinary students. But a nice gesture student council does is donate all of the proceeds to the Make A Wish Foundation. So every ticket sold for $3 goes to the Make A Wish Foundation.

The Sparties are on Wednesday, November 8th, at 7:00 P.M. in the East High Auditorium. Tickets are $3 and can be bought during the student’s lunch period.
