Lunchtime review: 70th & O Starbucks

March 29, 2018

The newest Starbucks addition has finally been opened to the public at 7020 O Street. Starbucks was built on the site of the former Egg Roll King restaurant that has since been torn down due to its vacancy. The popular coffeehouse was open for business on March 15th of this year. The store has not only been popular to the rest of Lincoln, but because of its location being so close to Lincoln East, some Spartans have already been forming their opinions about the new addition to the Starbucks franchise.

“It’s cute, I’d go there again,” says junior Chelsie Caulfield.

Junior Jordan Brandt and I headed out to Starbucks over lunch on Thursday to see what all the buzz was about. The cafe wasn’t as busy as we expected, so we got our orders in a timely manner. We gave a little bit of everything a shot. I opted for an Iced Caramel Macchiato and a pumpkin loaf, which were both excellent. Jordan tried the Peach Citrus Tea Lemonade with Raspberry syrup (it tasted amazing!) and a Sausage/Cheddar/Egg sandwich. The sandwich was on a muffin, which I’m not a huge fan of. Everything was hot that needed to be, and same for cold. The staff were friendly and corrected a couple of errors with no problem.

The only negative review that we’ve heard from East Students is that the parking lot is too narrow and not large enough to hold Starbucks’ fan base. “My mom went to Starbucks with her friends and they had to park in the CVS lot,” says senior Kierstin Foote.

To wrap things up, the new Starbucks will likely win over many Spartans, but diehard Scooter’s fans will probably keep the party rolling across the street. With an abundance of teas, lemonades, coffees, Frappuccinos, pastries, sandwiches and more, the new location will have just about something for everyone. Plus, you can get back to school in a matter of minutes.
