Booster Blitz helps fund fall athletics
Lincoln East’s annual Booster Blitz was held on August 22 at Stuart Field. Booster Blitz kicks off the season of East’s football, cross country, softball, girl’s golf, boy’s tennis, and volleyball. At the event included a prize raffle, food vendor’s, giveaways, a DJ who played old pop songs, and the opportunity for a free ice cream.
After a brief interview with Mr. Limbach, it was reassuring to hear that he’s excited for this good community of athletes to get this sort of acknowledgement, and how Booster Blitz has always been a fantastic community event and continues to be. It helps bring recognition for the upcoming fall sports, and the events that go hand in hand with it; the marching band, color guard, cheerleaders, and Apollinaires. When asked about the outlook for this season, Limbach is confident that all the teams are going to do excellently as they had done in previous seasons.
It was a wonderful community event. The East mascot, Martin the Spartan, was also there to help display enthusiasm for the sports. People are pumped and ready to see the start of the fall sports and the marching band. Some of the booths where you could buy items or clothing or food, splits the proceeds between teams, marching band, and cheerleaders. When asked about how well the fundraising went, Limbach was happy to say that “we made thousands of dollars for our teams.”
Overall, the Booster Blitz was a great opportunity to bring the community and teams together with hope the contributions will benefit the varying teams later in the season.
