Go out and volunteer!
East’s library was extra busy today, as the Service Learning Fair took place to educate the Government and Politics classes on a plethora of places to volunteer and learn more about what’s available in the city of Lincoln to give back to our community. At the fair, students were asked to meet with each organization advisors and learn about all of the services they offer to people in need.
Just a sample of some of the organizations that were there included the Election Commission, Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach, the People’s City Mission, LPS Sustainability, the Salvation Army, and CEDARS. Students received contact information, goodies, and most importantly, the awareness of what all of these hard working non-profit organizations can do for Lincoln residents that need a helping hand.
Students are now able to choose where they would like to spend their time volunteering in order to get their graduation requirements regarding community service completed. East High students, there is an organization with tasks that suit your liking all around us, go out and volunteer!
