Girls Class A Rankings:
1.Millard South (5-0,*1) – The Patriots continued their dominant start with wins over Elkhorn South and Kearney. They still haven’t failed to score less than 70 points in a game this season and have a lot of depth that makes them multi dimensional. The Patriots continue to be lead by Creighton commit Jayme Horan and South Dakota commit Maddie Krull who average over 15 ppg a piece. Millard South is our unanimous number 1 for the second week in a row.
2. Lincoln Pius X (4-0, *2) – The Thunderbolts come in at number 2 in our rankings this week after wins vs Omaha North and Lincoln Southeast. South Dakota State commit Alexis Markowski leads the team with 22 ppg and nearly 14 rpg. The Bolts have relied on their height to get a lot of second chance points. Pius X is becoming a force to be reckoned with in Class A for sure.
3. Lincoln East (4-0, *4) – The Spartans continued their hot shooting last weekend vs Omaha Northwest and in a close contest against Kearney. Senior Charley Bovaird scored 25 in the win over Omaha Northwest to lead the Spartans, Taylor Searcey also chipped in 16 in the win. East looks to continue their success this weekend against Grand Island and defending champion Millard North.
4. Fremont (5-0, *5) – The Tigers come off of wins over Omaha Bryan and Grand Island. 5. Lincoln High (4-0, *3) – The Links are off to a strong start this season with wins over Omaha Central, North Star, Papillion-LaVista South, and Millard North. The Links had close wins over North Star and Omaha Central but a win is a win. The Links are our number 5 team this week in Class A.
6. Millard North (3-1, *6)- The defending champion Mustangs bounced back from a 1-1 opening week with wins over talented Lincoln Southwest and Omaha Burke teams. The Mustangs have a tough weekend ahead against Omaha North and #3 Lincoln East at home.
7. Omaha Westside (3-1, *7) – The Warriors are coming off of big wins over a tough Papillion-LaVista South team and Omaha Northwest.
