Cause for Paws, a boutique for cheap. Since the opening of its storefront in Lincoln, Nebraska, in December of 2008, Cause for Paws has been able to generously give proceeds to Local Animal Charities and Rescue Organizations that help low income pet owners and families with vet bills. Along with supporting these charities, Cause for Paws also provides an emergency pet food bank for any families in need.
Because Cause for Paws is a nonprofit boutique, donations and volunteer work are much appreciated. Donations include new and Gently-used women’s clothes, shoes, purses, housewares, jewelry, furniture, seasonal, and pet items. Cause for Paws has donated over $1 million by turning these items into cash. Along with tangible items, the store also greatly appreciates the donation of services, such as lawn care, snow removal, and handy work.
“I love going in there with my mom,” sophomore Savannah Denker said. “We always find some really cool items that you can’t find anywhere else.”
Wanna see what is new in the store? Cause for Paws has a section of their website dedicated to items that were recently donated.
What makes Cause for Paws stand out from other stores is that it is run by volunteers. These volunteers help with customers, keep the store clean, and help process incoming donations. Any time that is volunteered is greatly appreciated.
“Cause for Paws is different from other volunteer opportunities because it helps others in multiple ways. Whether that be through donations, or by selling things in the store to be used for good causes,” volunteer Seth Goldsmith said. “On top of making a difference in the community, seeing the puppies in the store is also a positive.”
Cause for Paws continues to make an impact on animal charities and rescue organizations around Lincoln and Nebraska. Stop into Cause for Paws today, to not only get great deals on many one of a kind items, but also help support animals and pet owners in need.
“If you love finding unique items, but also supporting a great cause, this is the store for you,” Denker said.
