For the 2025 school year, junior Grace Cai has introduced a new club at Lincoln East High School: Red Cross Club. This club is the ideal way to make a difference in the community and spread positivity. The Red Cross Club has a meeting every other Thursday in room 129, and the club would love for more members to join and help spread their mission.
The Red Cross is a vital organization that helps over 100 million people. According to the official American Red Cross Society, every eight minutes the organization responds to emergencies. Their goal is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by the generosity of blood donors and volunteers. The Red Cross Society is an essential organization to support, and Cai’s club at Lincoln East does a fantastic job promoting its mission and helping connect with more individuals.
The mission of the club is to make an impact on the community, and the club has been doing an extraordinary job for such a new club. During the September 11, 2025 meeting, members made an abundance of cards for the hospital spreading positive messages.
“One of my favorite activities was making cards for hospital patients,” Junior Alex Ham said. “We got to write positive messages and be creative, and it’s nice to know that you’re making an impact.”
Besides making cards and posters, the club also hopes to connect with various volunteer opportunities and expand the club’s outreach, informing more individuals about the Red Cross organization.
Currently, the club is doing a fantastic job spreading its mission. However, starting a club does come with challenges, and the club would love more members to join.
“A challenge was initially starting everything up,” Cai said. “It’s my first time running a club, so it’s definitely been a new but exciting experience. I hope to have more members join too.”
While the club is a brand new face at Lincoln East, it’s already picking up steam and leaving a mark. Let’s help promote this amazing club and its mission and hope for a successful year for the new Lincoln East Red Cross Club.
