There is a new way for local businesses to flourish in Nebraska with the opening of Painted Tree Boutiques in Lincoln Southpointe Mall last fall. The store is vendor style, where businesses rent out booths to sell their products to the community.
“Painted Tree is a creative community of shops with hundreds of small businesses, all under one roof specializing in gifts, decor, fashion, soaps, candles, and so much more,” brand ambassador Caylie Barnett said to 1011 News in an interview. “We like to say it’s a one-shop gift shop, and truly it’s an experience like no other.”
After roaming through the impressive boutique, I was overwhelmed by the many items to look at and take home with me. Here are the five stands that stuck out to me the most:
Vintage and Vines
Vintage and Vines is a home decor stand decorated beautifully thanks to all of the unique vintage items on display. All of the greenery and vines highlighted the vintage photographs and knick knacks perfectly. A lot of effort was put into this stand. A wooden beam roof was built to enclose the stand, and it adds to the rustic farmhouse vibe. My favorite item they had for sale was their glass patterned lamps.
Simply Co.
Simply Co. was one of my favorite shops I looked at. They sold artistic gold plated jewelry for everyday wear. They had a whole wall of earrings hanging and I loved looking at every pair. They also sold simple gold necklaces, but the earrings were the star of the stand for me.
Paisley Lynn Boutique
Paisley Lynn Boutique is a home decor small business that has an aesthetically pleasing stand at Painted Tree. When I visited, they had a lot of their Easter decor on display. Items such as adorable stone bunnies and colorful fake flowers, mostly things to get someone into the spring mood. My favorite item was the large gold, sparkly Easter eggs that would look amazing on a dining room table.
“At Paisley Lynn Boutique, we sell home decor, candles, kitchen accessories, floral, lanterns, and seasonal decor,” boutique owner Heather Chloupek said. “The Painted Tree has been a wonderful experience, there is something for everyone, and it has given exposure that our little store never had before.”
402 Threads
402 Threads is a local clothing boutique in the Lincoln area that I am so glad has a spot at Painted Tree. I loved all of their graphic sweatshirts they had for sale. From Husker gear, to Nebraska graphics in general, every item had a touch of local flair. However, the decorated trucker hats are what sold me, perfect for a Nebraska summer day.
Bark N Go Bakery
Bark N Go Bakery is a bakery that sells homemade treats for the favorite dogs in one’s life. The most popular item was the “Woofie Crunchies,” a textured dog treat that comes in a variety of flavors: turkey and sweet potato, chicken and maple, peanut butter and pumpkin, butternut squash and apple, and many more. They also sell cat treats called “Snooty Meows,” a catnip treat infused with different flavors.
All of these amazing Lincoln small businesses are able to thrive due to the new exposure provided by Painted Tree. I would highly recommend stopping by to walk around and support these businesses in a fun way. Everyone is guaranteed to find something for them at the one-shop gift shop.
