Varsity boys soccer cruises to a win against Southeast

Lincoln East (2-1) faced off against Lincoln Southeast (2-3) on Wednesday at Seacrest field. It was a partly cloudy beginning, but ended up being a dark and wet mess. The game was in Spartan control the whole time. Winning the match 8-0. Even though they were up 3-0 at half that didn’t stop them from continuing the onslaught, scoring five goals in the second half.

A combination of stellar defense and well diverse scoring gave the Spartans a huge edge during the game. A total of five different Spartan players scored. For most of the game the ball remained on the offensive side of the field for Lincoln East, putting constant pressure on the Southeast defense. And because of the offensive success for the Spartans it allowed the defense to play aggressive and get in on the scoring action, but it also didn’t stop them from playing sharp on the back end.

Goals: Eli Brown (2), Jordan Stoehr (2), Alex Kohler (2), Jack Jarvis (1), Kevin Delgado (1)
