The East Spartans have a new quarterback, Zach Clausen.  Over the summer, it was announced that the 6-foot-6, 195-pound senior would be transferring to Lincoln East from Lincoln Lutheran.  Clausen says he transferred to East High “to have a better opportunity here and to try to take the East Spartans to state this year.”

Clausen passed for over 3,000 yards in three seasons at Lincoln Lutheran, and helped the Warriors reach the Class C2 semifinals in 2017.  He would like to further his football career in college, but is unsure where at this time. Since transferring to East, practice has been going well for Zach.  “It’s been fun,” said Clausen. “The team welcomed me in and it’s been a blast since.” Zach is optimistic about the team this year and plans to help the Spartans take the state title for the first time since 1979.
