Homecoming nominees are introduced at halftime on Thursday, September 20 at Seacrest Field.

One exciting part of the weeks leading up to homecoming night, is voting for the homecoming court, to select one king and queen from this year’s senior class to crown.  Seniors voted throughout the last week to select who they thought should represent their 2019 class. Six senior girls were nominated for homecoming queen, Zoe Keese, Kylie Miller, Crystal Xu, Lila Swope, Lauren Karmazin, and Katherine Schmidt. On the court for king was Matt Duhs, Matt Salzman, Mozart Chen, Alix Cui, Isaac Zheng, and Braeden Zinsmaster.  Many of the candidates were took by surprise when their names were listed off in an eighth period announcement last Friday. Among those surprised was Mozart Chen, who believes his nomination was derived out of humor. Chen was the fan favorite entering Friday’s homecoming crowning, as his “encyclopedic knowledge of anime” led to being crowned the Lincoln East 2018 homecoming king. Apollinaire Lila Swope was excited to be a part of homecoming court her senior year. “It’s a super cool tradition. All of the people deserve recognition and I’m happy thought to nominate me,” said Swope. Swope was named the Lincoln East 2018 homecoming queen.
