Need an excuse to stop by the main office? Well, you should come on down to see the mural in progress. If you’re lucky, you may even see Wendy Jane Bantam, an East High graduate and the artist behind the masterpiece. As stated in Bantam’s website, her works include “‘Blue Hayfield,’ “Midnight in the Sunken Garden” and, a personal favorite of mine,“The Path into The Woods.” According to principal Susan Cassata, the inspiration behind the design is the “path from adolescence to adulthood,” just like this stage of your life in high school. Former East Assistant principal and current principal of Dawes Middle School, Liz Miller, suggested the addition of a mural to the office. The mural, funded by leftover donations, adds a needed splash of color to the main office.
