Week 11 Oracle Power Rankings: Girls & Boys Class A Basketball

Boys Class A Basketball:
Key: ^District wild card points according to NSAA (top 7 host)

1. Millard North (18-2, *1, ^2) – The Mustangs will have undoubtedly the toughest close to the regular season out of any other team, putting them in a adequate position for the first overall seed if they can pull out some quality wins. This weekend will be the toughest test for Millard North as they look to face #23 nationally ranked IMG Academy in the Heartland Classic, and in the next two weeks closing out with top ten teams in the state.
This week: #2 @ Bellevue West, Vs #23 IMG Academy (Nationally)
2. Bellevue West (16-2, *2, ^1) – After a shootout dual and win over #8 North Star the Thunderbirds will look ahead to their final test against Millard North where a win would likely put them in the prime position to host the first overall seed in districts.
This week: Vs #1 Millard North, Vs Lincoln High
3. Omaha Central (13-3, *5, ^4) – A lighter stretch of schedule will help the Eagles get some much needed wins, barring any upsets from capable teams. Central’s hope for the one seed is not out of the picture, however with a chance at current one seed Millard North upcoming.
This week: Vs Omaha Northwest, @ Lincoln Northeast
4. Omaha Westside (14-5, *7, ^3) – The Warriors have been playing at an all time high and just in time for the season’s looming close, with the last loss coming a month ago against the one and two teams, respectively. With three more upcoming games, Westside will have a terrific opportunity at a top two seed with the top two seeds slated to face each other, and a test with Omaha Central for the season’s close.
This week: Vs Millard South, @ Lincoln Southeast
5. Omaha South (14-4, *3, ^7) – Two tough top ten losses likely diminished South’s chances at a one seed in districts, with upcoming bouts against current top ten teams could help improve their stock for a better host. They’ll look to get back in the win column this week against two win-able opponents.
This week: Vs Omaha North, Vs #9 Lincoln Pius X
6. Creighton Prep (14-6, *4, ^5) – Prep will look to tack on as many wins to their record in the final stretch of what’s been a very up and down year. The next few weeks should harbor some nice wins for the Jays to compete for a higher district seed, including a solid out of state test against Rockhurst (KS), and a conclusion against Papillion-La Vista South.
This week: Vs Lincoln Northeast, Vs Rockhurst
7. Papillion-La Vista South (13-6, *6, ^9) – After a competitive exchange with Millard North the Titans will have solid weekend, and a chance to pick up some respectable wins, most notably against top tier 2 seed Lincoln Southeast. This will get Papio South ready for a season finale against two accompanying top ten teams, where they will have excellent chances to upgrade their district placement.
This week: @ Bellevue East, Vs Lincoln Southeast
8. Lincoln North Star (13-6, *9, ^11) – On the outside looking in is the current status of the Navigators, as current two seed. North Star has three games against .500 teams before a shot at the top spot against the Mustangs of Millard North, after a highly contested game against Bellevue West, in which Donovan Williams dropped 50. However, hosting a district could be farfetched as wild card points place them 4 spots outside a hosting placement.
This week: @ Kearney, Vs Millard West
9. Lincoln Pius X (13-5, *8, ^6) – An ill plagued team has seemed to finally regained full strength, and in a great timing too. The Thunderbolts lost 5 of the last 7 games, but still remain the 6th overall seed after starting the 12-0, and a great chance to upkeep their current 1 seed status against some strong teams in the coming weeks.
This week: Vs Fremont, @ #5 Omaha South
10. Grand Island (12-7, *NR, ^12) – Back in the top ten for the first time since week 7, the Islanders have been playing terrific basketball as of late, picking up some key wins in the process, winning 5 of the last 6, including a win against Creighton Prep. A current two seed, and likely to remain here for the postseason, and will look to upgrade as much as possible with some sure wins upcoming.
This week: Vs Norfolk, Vs Grand Island Central Catholic
