East cross country team finishes off their season with a charming goodbye

Drew Huscher, senior and runner on East’s Cross Country Team states his goal in achieving for Friday’s race. “Hopefully PR for all time. If not for all time, then maybe the season,” he said.
Assistant Coach Hubbell thinks through words of encouragement or a pat on the back helps “runners have to be self motivated to do what they do.”
Finishing off the season with a strong rejoice of mentality, both the girl’s and boy’s JV teams brought another win for East against Southwest High School. Coach Kabourek’s response for an ending win resulted in a positive manner.
“We’ve finished and we showed perseverance on a hot day,” he said.
Coach Kabourek’s favorite part of managing East’s Cross Country Team is “the relationships that you build with the kids.”
Sports may be interpreted differently. Many are thought of as a way to stay active, or even for the competitive nature against rivaling schools. Some, though, can take a sport more into the aspect of building a friendly community, or even a family.
Ending of the season with a charming goodbye, the East Cross Country Team will keep strong in the leaderboards and as a team.
