From November 4th to November 17th, the East student council sold pink masks to raise money and support breast cancer awareness. About 50 masks were tie died and sold to raise money to give to Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital.
Usually around this time of year, StuCo would sell T-shirts and promote the “Pink Out” at the football game. However, 2020 happened and they were unfortunately unable to do any of that.
“This year has been a pretty big set back,” student council treasurer Drew Huscher said. They usually made about $2,000 for Saint Elizabeths, however this year they didn’t make anything close to that. “We’re hoping to bounce back and raise more next year,” Huscher said.
However, every member of the Spartan Student Council is still dedicated as always to help out those in need. “Everyone kinda knows at least one person in their life that has been affected by breast cancer,” senior council member Kaci Shaw said. “So I think it’s really important to keep going.”
