Rap sensation, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie takes the stage at Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena on October 5th, 2023. A Boogie put on an awe-inspiring performance that gave concertgoers an amazing experience.

At 9:30 p.m. on October 5, 2023, rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie took the stage at Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena. The sold out show was just one of many stops made in college towns around the country as the rapper partakes in his tour titled, “The College Tour.” A Boogie performed to over 6,000 eager fans and all of whom were amazed by his show.

A Boogie’s set lasted just over an hour and ended with an incredible performance of his most popular song, “Drowning.” The performance of the song sent confetti in the air and had everyone in the crowd screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. Lily Neilson, a sophomore at Lincoln East, attended the October 5 concert and loved A Boogie’s closing song.

“My favorite song was ‘Drowning,’” Neilson said. “During the song the whole atmosphere of the stadium changed and it was super fun.”

A Boogie has become a mainstream artist through the sound of his music, as well as his meaningful lyrics. Junior Belinda Rademacher, loved A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s performance because she has a connection to the lyrics.

“My favorite song he performed would have to be ‘Still Think About You’ because I relate to the lyrics and loved hearing it in person,” Rademacher said.

Along with the main event, the concert had two openers. The first to take the stage was Kaliii, singer of popular songs “Area Codes” and “MMM MMM.” Concert goers then watched a performance put on by Toosii, the writer of TikTok famous song, “Favorite Song.” Toosii put on a 60 minute long opening performance following Kaliii’s 30 minute set. Neilson enjoyed the openers almost as much as A Boogie’s performance.

“I thought the openers were very interesting,” Neilson said. “My favorite was probably Kaliii. I really like the song ‘Area Codes’ and it was so fun to hear it live.”

Overall, the concert was a hit with the young people of Lincoln. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s performance brought a much needed energy to the students of Nebraska who are feeling the pressures of school as they get deeper into the semester.

“I absolutely loved the concert,” Rademacher said. “I thought it was super fun and the environment was incredible. It was an amazing break from all the school work I have had recently.”

A Boogie’s tour will come to a close on October 15th, with concerts in his hometown of New York City, after many months of spreading energy to high school and college students around the United States.
