From the hosts of Blood Rush Forest of Terror, in Elkhorn, Nebraska comes another thrilling and scary expedition. Glenwood, Iowa, just 25 minutes away from Omaha, is offering an eye-catching offer, Hillside House of Hell. This attraction is open December 15 through December 17. Prices range from $39.99 for a single ticket to $999 for a group of 20 that includes a party room. Walking through the haunted house typically takes 30-40 minutes, which is about twice as long as it takes to walk through the Psycho Path at Roca Scary Farm.

“Iowa’s scariest haunted houses are Hillside House of Hell and Klown Kraze 3D,” popular review site, ScaryOverload said. “Hillside House of Hell is only 25 minutes from downtown Omaha and features over 50,000 square feet of heart pumping fear.”

Hillside House of Hell does warn you, though, that their attraction contains strobe lights and limited parking. They put a lot of emphasis on this and strongly encourage carpooling. Some of their exciting features, however, include that the first 100 guests to walk through the attraction get free Santa hats. In the past, they’ve included celebrity guests such as Mark Donovan who was cast in Shaun of the Dead, and Brett Wagner who’s known for many popular movies including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. To top it off, aside from their Halloween and Christmas functions they also offer off-season events such as “Cupid’s Killer Valentine’s”, “Curse of the Leprechaun”, and “Fright Night Fireworks”.

This is the second year they’re offering this Christmas attraction. Last year they originally were open for two nights, but extended it to four after an overwhelmingly positive response. Hillside House of Hell has been wanting to explore the concept of Krampus, Santa’s assistant who punishes kids who misbehave. “It also adds a great ‘spice’ to our passion for entertaining, plus it’s just super unique!” ScareIowa said. On their website they added, “We’ve created an experience unlike anything around. You will witness one-of-a-kind sets, intense visual images, tons of props and animatronics, and much more!” Krampus is also included on site, ready to take photos.

Those who are looking to mix in a little fright with their Christmas delight should consider checking out Hillside House of Hell, have a very scary Christmas!

Tina Mashayekhi is one of the newest members of the Oracle staff, as this is her first year on staff. She was motivated to join Oracle after a previous staff member encouraged her to apply, positive she’d be a good fit for the team. Tina is a senior here at East, and enjoys writing, reading, going to sporting events, and watching the cheerleaders perform. Tina writes poetry on occasion, enjoys crafts and music (her favorite bands are Skillet and Marina and the Diamonds) and says her goal in The Oracle is to write at least one article that people really want to read. Tina has high hopes for being on Oracle staff, and hopes to be known as the one who’s just a little bit crazy, and who has ideas outside the box.
