Hey, everyone! My name is Faqeha, and I’m a junior here at East. I moved to Nebraska in February 2020 from a small coastal town in California. I’m what some people call a “tree-hugger,” because I love immersing myself in the natural world. I enjoy hiking and mountain biking with my family. I play basketball, field hockey, and sometimes do a bit of fencing. I’ve also been riding horses for 4 years. My favorite author is J.R.R. Tolkien, and I have too many favorite books, movies, and tv shows to choose. I commit to many hours of community service work monthly, and love educating the public on subjects I’m passionate about, such as natural history and conservation. Being a part of the Oracle, I hope to show readers magical things about our city, through the eyes of someone who’s new to the midwest, and open to new experiences.
