Nebraska athletics have had their ups and downs, and while many of the downfalls have been highlighted, such as the firing of previous Head Football Coach Scott Frost, the accomplishments are under-appreciated in a variety of programs. Winning is becoming the name of the game for many Husker sports programs, and listed below are some of these great accomplishments.

While Husker football has had its downs during the 2022 season before firing head coach Scott Frost, they have come back with a significant improvement, earning back-to-back wins in the Big Ten for the first time since 2018.

Having one of the strongest defenses in the nation, Husker volleyball remains undefeated in the BIG-10, winning all 8 games played in the conference, and 16 out of 17 games total this season.

Freshman cross country runner Alea Hardie set the school record at the Joe Paine Invite, breaking the record for the first time since 1988. She has also been named Big 10 Athlete of the week two times this season.

Not only is the Nebraska volleyball team currently ranked third, the women’s bowling team is as well. Winning the team’s 13th National Championship during the 2021 season, they will be starting their season next weekend , and are working towards winning their next national championship during the 2022 season.

“The schedule is very competitive from start to finish and will challenge our team throughout the regular season,” Coach Plema said in a pre-season interview with the Nebraska Athletics Communication program, highlighting how the difficult schedule will prepare the Husker’s for Championship season.

Men’s golfer Harry Crockett Finished third at the Purdue Invite, setting personal bests and helping Nebraska finish 5th overall. Things are looking up for the Nebraska men’s golf team.
