Crumbl Cookies, the cookie place that is taking America by storm, has the people at Lincoln East High School in a craze this fall. But is the Crumbl craze worth the hefty prices and abundant calories? Crumbl Cookies is a popular cookie company known for its scrumptious, fresh, and unique cookie flavors that switch every week.
Many students are seen each day throughout East with boxes of Crumbl Cookies. Kayden Le, a junior at Lincoln East, is one of these people who is always seen roaming the hallways with a big box of Crumbl.
“I do like Crumbl a lot because it’s so sweet, but I honestly just think it’s funny to always walk into school with a box of Crumbl,” Le states. “My favorite flavor is the tres leches cake because it’s so unique, but this week’s flavors are mid.”
For the week of September 30, 2024, the flavors were Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk, Brownie Sundae, Ultimate Peanut Butter, Cookies & Cream Milkshake, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, and, an autumn specialty, Pumpkin Cake Cookie.
I’ve never tried Crumbl Cookies before and I wanted to see what the hype is about. And as fall approaches, I just had to try the Pumpkin Cake Cookie along with other Crumbl flavors.
Le’s obsession with Crumbl’s unique flavors is commonly shared with many other East students, but personally, I didn’t understand the hype. While the cookies did taste fine, it wasn’t extraordinary and didn’t seem worth the price. I was very disappointed in my Crumbl experience since I had high expectations considering I paid around $20 for 4 cookies. Additionally, one single cookie can have up to 1000 calories which is very unhealthy to eat on a daily basis.
I tried the Pumpkin Cake Cookie and it tasted fine, but if I ate too much, I got overwhelmed by the sweetness and it just turned into mushy goop in my mouth. With the other flavors, I had similar experiences.
While I may not be a fan of Crumbl, many others love it simply for the guaranteed freshness and kind employees.
“I love my job at Crumbl,” Lincoln East sophomore Sarah Fuson said. “It’s fun learning so many new techniques on making new flavors. The only downside is it gets so busy. Oftentimes I see kids from school.”
Lincoln, Nebraska’s Crumbl is home to a fantastic staff that does an extraordinary job at preparing fresh cookies each day. I’ve come to understand that it’s not just the cookie, it’s the whole experience of walking into the store with a sweet aroma drifting through your nose and watching tons of cookies being made. While Crumbl and the Pumpkin Cake Cookie was okay, the thing that impressed me the most was the whole ambiance of Crumbl. While I might not take part in the Crumbl craze, it’s clear that Crumbl has had a great impact on the Lincoln East community!
